Is there an issue that plagues you? The answer could lie in a past life.

Past Life Regression

Did you ever have a person or relative that you just couldn’t get along with? Or maybe there is someone that, no matter how hard you try, just won’t accept you. The answer could lie in a past life.

Carol* could not understand why her mother-in-law has never accepted her into the family. There were constant negative comments that always created discomfort and stress at family gatherings. Wanting to better understand why this was happening, she decided to explore the issue during a past life regression session.

Going back to a previous life that she shared with her mother-in-law, Carol saw herself sitting on the porch of a general store waiting for someone. She was dressed very poorly and was feeling very hungry. Along came a beautiful carriage drawn by two magnificent white horses. In it, were her Uncle and cousin. She recognized her cousin as the same soul as her mother-in-law in this life. She was dressed very fine and had a beautiful basket.

When they went into the store, she saw her cousin picking beautiful ribbons, candies and a book and putting them in the basket for her father to buy for her. Carol’s uncle bought a bag of potatoes and a bag of rice and told her to take them and go straight home. There were no ribbons or candies for Carol. When she arrived home, she found her drunken father beating her mother. Her mother handed Carol her baby brother and told her to run to her uncle’s house where they would be safe. When she arrived there, they were not permitted in the house, but were told they could stay in the barn and food would be brought to them.

I knew that this was one not the life to find any karmic reasoning for their relationship in this life, so I regressed Carol to another lifetime she shared with her mother-in-law. This time Carol found herself as a privileged young girl of 14 in England. Her father was a Member of Parliament who had little time for fathering; and her mother was very busy as a socialite. The only attention they gave to Carol was when she was asked to play the piano at social gatherings.

Carol was brought up by a nanny who she loved dearly and looked to as a mother figure. When Carol was eight years old, her nanny became pregnant by her father. An illegitimate daughter was born and was brought up in the same household to later become Carol’s personal servant. Carol recognized this illegitimate child as her mother-in-law. Carol did not make life easy for this young girl, and became jealous whenever her nanny showed any attention to her. In one memory, Carol was going to the coast for the summer, and being quite spoiled, insisted that only the nanny go with her. The little girl had to stay home all summer without her mother.

Carol realized that spending this lifetime and the one as the poor young girl with her mother-in-law was her way to balance her karma for the way she treated her in the lifetime in England.

Did her mother-in-law’s behaviour change after the regression? No, but with Carol’s new understanding, she is able to tolerate her without the stress and anxiety she previously experienced.
