Clearing Stagnant Energies From Your Home

With spring upon us now is the time to cleanse all things.  One of the first things you need to do to clear stagnant energies from your home is to remove all the unwanted material objects that clutter your space.  Assess your home, room by room.  Do you need to keep all those magazines, books, and old saucepans?

Sometimes we keep more material possessions than we need because our direction in life is scattered and unfocused.  By fine-tuning what you wish to do with your life you will be in a better position to know which objects you don’t need anymore.  By clearing your living space, you are allowing new energy to come into your home.
Once the junk is out of your life, you will also find that it is easier to keep the house tidy and functional throughout your new year.  Decide what activities you most like doing and where in your house you like doing them.  Create the space for your activity to happen or make a list of things, such as a table or shelf space, that you need and buy or make these components gradually through the year.
Some old energies can be stubborn and just will not be released by your improving the circulation of energy through your house by removing all unnecessary objects.  Many believe that the corners of a room are particularly prone to harbouring stagnent energies.  Some ways of clearing old energy from a room include clapping your hands, burning incense sticks in each corner, or performing a smugde.
Another method is to stand in the room you wish to clear and imagine the energy in the room as a luminous haze.  Imagine that your body’s connected with the earth.  This is very important if you contemplate any work with energies around the home, your family or yourself.  Move your arms up in a sweeping fashion, imagining that a golden energy from the earth is travelling up your spine and through your arms.  Visualize the golden energy looping around the stagnant energy.  Draw the energy down to the flood and imagine that the stagnant energy is being drawn from you into the ground.  Put a bright Spring flowers or brightly coloured piece of fabric in the room to celebrate the renewal of its energy.

Aries – Stars & Stones and Flowers – The Astrological Connection Series

If you are an Aries, you have a natural alignment to red stones, such as: red jasper, ruby, bloodstone, coral, and garnet.  Diamonds, gold, and steel are some of the secondary stones and metals which also support your vigor, vitality, and dynamic personality.  But for those times when your Mars energy becomes overpowering, you may find that rose quartz helps to soften the hard edges of competitiveness and ambition.

Azurite will assist you in lifting your perspective from the temporal self to the unconditionally loving, universal Self.  And the apache tear (obsidian) will cool your restive energies and help you to relax, meditate or even sleep during those times when relaxation may elude you.  If there are times when you are feeling restricted by outside events or others, try the emerald, green beryl, green tourmaline or green fluorite to bring you balance as well as the ability to push through the barriers to your growth.

March Birth Flower – Daffodil

Symbolizing rebirth and new beginnings, the daffodil is virtually synonymous with spring. A gift of daffodils is said to ensure happiness.  But always remember to present daffodils in a bunch – the same legends that associate this cheerful flower with good fortune warn us that when given as a single bloom, a daffodil can foretell misfortune.
April Birth Flower – Daisy

Daisies are associated with innocence. The gerbera daisy has large colorful blooms, which has made it a favorite with flower lovers. There is a legend that a nymph wanting to escape unwanted attention, transformed herself into the daisy. Ever after this the April birth flower has the flower meaning of implicity and modesty.

Celebrate Spring …

Spring; The Season of Growth … New Beginnings

Spring starts with the vernal or Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20th, in the year 2010.  The planting of seeds in your garden or window box is echoed in the planting of new ideas and resolutions for your new sacred year.  Sometimes, to allow space for the new, the old must be cleansed or cleared away.

This is a fairly unstable time, particularly with the shaking up of the old energy and the coming in of the new.  Many people feel that about the time of Beltane/May Day, the height of the energies in Spring, major changes can occur.  Some of these changes may appear to be destructive, such as the ending of a treasured relationship.  Make sure you look at what other opportunities have opened to you.  The Spring equinox is the time of equal light and dark in the world, with the light increasing toward Summer.  Many of the changes that occur will be constructive, despite how despondent you may feel at the time.

Celebrating The Spring Equinox – March 20, 2010

The first day of Spring bears a great sense of energy and promise.  With the increase of the sun’s energy. the emphasis at the Spring equinox is on fertility.  Your creativity and the earth’s productivity both start to gather momentum.  This is the time to free yourself from Winter’s slumbers and to feel a sense of your own strength and beauty.  Traditional forms of celebrating the Spring or vernal equinox revolve around putting energy back into the earth with rituals involving the planting of flowers, trees and herbs.  A blessing that dedicates each planting to the earth may be said or felt as the plant or seed is inserted into the ground.

Approximately six weeks after the Spring equinox is another festival called Beltane (also known as May Day in the Northern Hemisphere).  This is the height of the Spring energy.  It is a highly creative, flagrantly sexual time which is expressed through the many fertility symbols that characterize this festival, such as bonfires, traditionally lit to ensure fertility to the household and farmyard, and dancing around the maypole.

New unions, friendships and business deals are created during this festival, and as we commit to a new path, disruptions in the old energies around us may result.  This is part of the cleansing energy of Spring.

Archangel Raphael, The Healer…

Perceived as the mildest and kindest of the archangels is Raphael, whose name means “God has healed”.  Though he is the ruler of all of the angels of healing, he actually has brought assistance in a great many other areas.  He brought Noah a book of medicine after the flood; in the Testament of Solomon, he subdued demons that were interfering with the building of Solomon’s great temple.
The most significant story of Raphael recounts how he accompanied young Tobias from Nineveh to Medina to help him find his new wife, Sarah.  But Sarah was possessed by a demon that had killed each man she had ever married.  Raphael cast out this demon, healed Sarah, and brought Tobias and Sarah together in a happy marriage.  Later, Raphael showed Tobias how to heal his father’s blindness, using parts of a fish they had caught on their journey.
Let’s consider all the ways that Raphael can bring assistance.  He is the guardian angel of travel.  He helps people on their journeys to find love.  He helps you to find the right healing ointments.  He drives the demons out of love (in other words, he helps diminish obsession, jealousy, possessiveness, and control).  Raphael helps the blind to heal both physical and emotional vision problems – issues that cloud your viewpoint and which prevent a clear perspective.  He helps you on your journeys when you have to go long distances, not only geographically, but when you are facing any challenge and need a guide along your path.
Raphael might be a little harder to find than Michael and Gabriel, in terms of statuary and art, but take a look for him because he is great to have around.  Of course, you don’t need statues or pictures of angels to be able to beckon them.  But a visual stimulus does help to remind you of their love, their presence, and their support.  Raphael is often depicted with a fish and/or staff.  He is sometimes shown with a young man or a boy, representing Tobias (or Tobiah, depending upon which Biblical translation you read).  He is also frequently pictured near a river, because that’s where he helped Tobias cross the river and catch the healing fish.
Because he did not make his identity as an angel known until much later in their journey, Raphael is often shown without wings during his travels with Tobias.  In this way, he also guards and protects the charitable and those who care anonymously for the needy.  Whenever you meet a stranger, always look for the angel hiding there!

Archangel Michael – The Warrior

Michael is perhaps the most powerful of all angels.  His name means, “Who is as God.”  A divine warrior, he conquered Satan and drove the fallen angels out of heaven.  You will most often see statuary and art depicting him with his sword drawn and his foot on top of Satan who is often seen as a dragon or a snake.  Michael is the patron angel of the military, the police, all who do battle, and those who find themselves in competition.

Whenever you need strength in your life, you can call Michael and his legions.  Even in situations where you are looking for inner strength to pursue a goal or overcome a temptation, Michael will be there for you.
It is amazing how available, how inspiring, and how reliable the angels are.  As long as you make a clear commitment to your purpose, they will not falter in their support.  Michael is also the archangel of autumn, harvest, and seeing things through to their natural conclusion.  He will help bring you perseverance and follow through.

Angels …

Perhaps the biggest reason we know about angels already is because they have always played a role in the lives of our spiritual teachers and prophets.  Many references in the Bible point to their activities as messengers between those above and those on earth.  Some references identify them as warriors, some as healers.
The overriding purposes of all angels, no matter which position they hold, are service and assistance – to lift up the good and diminish the harmful, to increase the light, and to dispel the darkness.  Seek to create a personal relationship with angels the same way you would have a personal relationship with Uncle Jim, Dad, or Grandma in spirit.
There is a great deal of different information about angels.  Some books say there are four archangels; many say there are seven, nine, or even twelve.  But most books agree that angels are an order of beings separate unto themselves.  They don’t belong to the physical kingdom.  They have a very high frequency and a very pure energy.  And the thing that defines them most is the service that they bring to our lives.  For angels, this is their predominant purpose – service to God and service to humanity.  All you need to do to work with the angels is to realize that you are free to ask for the help they bring.

Relationships with angels

You can have a relationship with one of the major angels, even though you may be asking yourself, “Why would Gabriel be talking to me, when there are a million other people who want to talk to Gabriel?”  Well, that is the nature of the angelic realm.  There are legions and legions of angels, and we can have a personal relationship with the archangels and all their legions.  The only thing you need to decide is the angel you wish to call and why you are calling him.  If you are clear about the type of help that you need, it is easy to know which angel should assist you.

The major archangels

Over the next four issues I will highlight the four major archangels.  Between them, they could probably cover just about anything you’d need from the angelic realm.

Archangel Gabriel – The Messenger

Gabriel, whose name means “Man of God” or “God is my strength,” is the angel most often depicted in historical art with feminine or androgynous features.  He interpreted Daniel’s dreams in the Old Testament, and in the New Testament he foretold the coming of John the Baptist and made the Annunciation to Mary.

The messenger angel

As the messenger angel, Gabriel is often shown holding or blowing a trumpet.  Sometimes he is holding a bell, a scroll, a quill, a parchment, or a book.  If you are in any kind of communication field, if you work with computers, if you are a writer, a teacher, a therapist, a clairvoyant, or a speaker, then Gabriel is your angel.
Gabriel is one of my favourite angels because he is the most connected to those who seek inspiration (and information) from the unseen.  The angel of night and winter, he is a dream interpreter, a prophet, a message bearer.  Gabriel is the messenger of messengers and the patron of those who wish to learn to communicate with spirit.

Forgive others today as you would wish to be forgiven!

“He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself; for every man has the need to be forgiven.”

She is known to be Caring, Professional, Focused, AND ACCURATE!

To find your “Scope” for the month of March, grab your favorite snack and look at the Nutritional Facts, find the calorie count for a single serving and then reduce that number to a single digit.  For example:  A single serving of Peanut Butter is 190 calories, so you would add 1 + 9 + 0 = 10, then reduce 10 down by adding 1 + 0 = 1, so your “Scope” will be number 1 below.  Have fun!

Scope 0 ~ You will be presented with an opportunity this month.  You have a choice whether or not you choose to move forward or stay where you currently are.  The nice thing about this opportunity, is that it doesn’t knock only once, so you can choose to move forward at a later date, if you decide to hold off now.  Spending time near bodies of water would do your heart well.

Scope 1 ~  Music and sound is where it’s at for you this month.  Surround yourself with inspirational sounds.  It may be a CD of your favorite band, but it might also be those wonderful sounds of nature, like the ocean.  Move your body!  Go out dancing.

Scope 2 ~  Learn to use your voice this month.  Speak your truth.  You are completely entitled to your opinion.  If someone does not want to listen to what you have to say, you may want to examine how your relationship is really working.  Rose quartz would be a nice stone for you to carry this month.

Scope 3 ~ Pay attention to your dreams, there is an important message there.  This is also a wonderful month to re-examine your goals, evaluate what is still relevant and important to you.  Adjust them if necessary.  Draw a Faerie.

Scope 4 ~ Remember that things are not always as they appear, especially this month.  Sometimes it’s how we are looking at things, that causes a little distortion.  Spend some time in nature.

Scope 5 ~  March is a time of contemplation for you.  Planning the next step.  Thinking about things, not necessarily, doing.  Try brainstorming. Fill your birdfeeders!

Scope 6 ~ This month is all about tapping into that powerful feminine energy, the Yin energy of the Universe.  Yes, this applies to you men, too!  Love and nurturing is available for you, if you choose to accept it.  Draw with colored pencils or better yet, crayons.

Scope 7 ~ You take on the roll of Sage this month.  Someone comes to you for advice.  Remember, you can only guide, you cannot fix things for them.  You can offer only gentle nudges and choices. Visit a nursery or flower shop.

Scope 8 ~  Don’t be too set in your ways this month.  Be willing to change your mind, when new ideas bubble forward.  Leave a little offering out for our Fae friends sometime this month.  Blow bubbles.

Scope 9 ~ You need to get out of the house and do something unexpected this month.  Something different than you’ve ever done before.  Enjoy the ride, you might just have a really great time.  Plant a flower.

Give everyone you meet today one of your smiles and you will make the world better!

“One who smiles rather than angers is always stronger.”
