Kristin Lee-Gray (Windstar), CTI and President, Canadian Tarot Network, International Tarot Certification.
Today I am involved in teaching and sharing Tarot in many ways that I never expected. In addition to the www.spiritualguidedpsychics.com website; I also read for the American Tarot Association on their FTN and FRN network, where I meet people from all around the world.
The questions are usually the very similar, but with different back stories. It’s the back stories that come through depending on the querent’s culture and Earth experience.
As the current President of the Canadian Tarot Network I also find myself volunteering and working with many Tarot devotees. I call them devotees because to claim Tarot as a friend and energy in one’s life takes a certain passion and commitment, a devotion to a belief that the Universe can communicate with us through symbolism. Tarot just happens to be one of many symbolic forms available to us.
I was only two years old when my father, a geologist with Gulf Oil, came home one night after seeing a bright ball of fire cross the sky as he and his crew were driving home to our home in New Mexico. This is the exact same time I began to have some serious night flying dreams that lasted for several years.
Roswell, New Mexico, was a short drive from our town. Many years later as I was flying into the San Francisco Bay airport at night, I was amazed at how the night lights of the cities reminded me of those dreams I had as a child. But I never thought much more about it. It was always in the back of my mind that there is more out there to be discovered.
My career in the Bay Area lasted for 30 years, after which time I retired, and moved back home with my wheel-chair bound mother as a care giver soon after my father passed on. It has been the most enriching time of my entire life. Here in Red Earth USA I have an active Tarot and art studio, both online and in my home, and two booths at a local indoor flea market where I teach spirit art and conduct Tarot classes and readings on the weekends. I do Tarot readings at spirit fairs several times per year, and teach Tarot through online classes as well as here at my home studio. I also co-op a monthly Tarot meet-up for this city and surrounding towns.
Tarot was just a fun thing for me when I was working all those years on my “job-job” but now it breathes new energy into my life. Most importantly I love the people I work with and meet. They bring a lot of joy into my life for which I am most grateful. Some of these people have taught me about crystals and gemstones; Archangels; and other oracle decks which I use along with my Tarot readings. I’m now studying more in depth about essential oils and aromatherapy.
Tarot is my back story, what comes next could be any number of things – I’m open!
Blessings to All, Kristin
